The current building code in Douglas County limit square footage minimums to 1800sqft. The State and Local Government Committee is considering proposing to our local officials we lower/or remove the square footage minimums to attract and allow more urban housing – including shot gun housing and tiny home developments.

Douglas County recently became the new tech hub for Atlanta with companies like Switch, Google, Amazon, Medline, and The American Red Cross.
Why are we considering this?
According to the 2021 NAR Home Buyer and Seller Generational Trends Report, the biggest market for buyers right now is millennials.
*Millennials are transient in nature and like minimalism
*Millennials want little home maintenance
*Millennials want to lower carbon footprint
